Director of ER
POSITION
Summary:
The Director is responsible for all nursing operations of the Emergency Department.
Works closely with medical staff leadership to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programs that enhance quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction.
Responsible for external and internal communication plans.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's of Science required.
MSN or related degree preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:
As appropriate to specialty, if applicable.
RN with NM License, BLS, ACLS.
Emergency Nursing certification highly desirable.
SKILLS:
Strong leadership skills and previous management experience including experience in facilitating interdisciplinary team collaboration.
Evidence of such experience should include:
EUR Strong financial management and budgeting skills EUR Effective communication skills (verbal and written) EUR Strong analytical skills EUR Ability to problem solve; ability to appropriately confront issues EUR Ability to motivate others as individuals and as a team EUR Ability to plan, organize, direct, and manage the activities of others EUR Ability to effectively design and manage projects EUR Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences EUR Experience in dealing with physicians on an administrative level and ability to work collaboratively with medical staff members and leadership EUR Ability to analyze data and utilize data in a meaningful and useful manner EUR Strong knowledge of clinical and financial information systems, chargemaster, revenue cycle, including quantitative analysis tools, benchmarking tools, and PC applications such as Microsoft and Excel EUR Strong nursing knowledge and clinical skills EUR Ability to effectively run meetings to negotiate deadlines
Experience:
Minimum of five years experience in progressive ED nursing administration or other settings appropriate to this position.
