Demonstrates compassion, respect and caring while working within the scope of practice of Director of Inpatient Services to include Medical /Surgical, ICU, and Cardiopulmonary. Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization. Responsible for providing operational leadership in the oversight, design, development, implementation and facilitation of comprehensive clinical programs, including hospital operational and quality efforts. Provides information and support in maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements. Responsible to assist AVRH to meet strategic objectives.
Utilizes knowledge of budgeting process to manage costs. Forecasts financial impact of planned programs, services and operational initiatives. Strives for consistency in management practices by facilitating process agreement among all Clinical Directors.
The Director is aware of and fulfills legal, professional, regulatory agency, and institutional responsibilities. The individual is responsible for developing and implementing plans to meet or exceed customer needs and simultaneously assuring excellent quality and service outcomes for the acute care services areas. The Director supports and integrates quality assessment and improvement into daily work activities. The Director functions with limited supervision, utilizes independent and collaborative judgment in decision-making, and demonstrates leadership and problem solving skills. The Director is highly visible among staff, peers, physicians, and other functions/departments. Accountability for all responsibilities will be measured through direct observation, achievement of organizational, operational, and strategic goals, quality and financial outcomes, performance improvement activities, and department operations.
Education:
Graduate of an accredited, State Board of Nursing approved nursing program is required. BSN or bachelor's degree in a related field or MSN or Masters in a related field is preferred.

Experience:
Must have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience; experience in a variety of acute care clinical settings is preferred. Experience in patient care management preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Must possess a current New Mexico License or hold a Compact License; have and maintain a current certification in BLS. Other certifications (i.e. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, etc.) are optional.
