Responsibilities:
-Responsible for scheduling appointment times and dates for all in and outpatient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions in coordination with Ancillary Departments.
-Obtains all required patient demographic information and processes data according to procedure.
Coordinates and confirms schedules with physicians and advises patients.
-Prepares consolidated scheduling reports and distributes copies to departments.
Advises patients on Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements and provisions.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and has completed a course in Medical Terminology or a demonstrated working knowledge of the terminology.
Experience:
One year experience in hospital admissions and insurance processing preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively; ability to manage several tasks simultaneously and is detailed oriented.
